About the presenters: 

Kristi Kraychy, Founder, Head of School, CEO, Board Chair B.Mus.(Hons), B.Ed., C.H.N.C., M.Ed. 

Kristi graduated from the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Sciences with a Master’s in Education specializing in Leadership. During her time at the University of San Diego, Kristi travelled to Madrid (Spain) and San Diego (U.S.A.) to work in Changemaker schools as part of a Changemaking in Education course. Her final capstone thesis project focused on teacher training, gifted education and student-centred learning.

Over the past 15 years, Kristi has worked as a teacher and educational leader in a variety of charter, public and private school settings in and around Calgary. Kristi is gifted and neurodivergent herself and is a parent to a school-aged gifted/neurodivergent child. Her desire to open the Calgary Changemaker School was, in part, due to the lack of schools in Calgary that specialized in programming for gifted learners. A significant component of her vision for the school was to create a thriving educational environment for all that could also support the academic, social-emotional and mental-health needs of mild-moderately gifted and talented children.
