We are leading a transformation in education that supports children and their guiding community as Changemakers: individuals who are building their connection to self, purpose, and belonging with the skills to generate new ideas and take initiative to effectively solve problems and drive positive change.
We are vision-oriented and equally focused on the “who” as well as the “what,” developing children as active contributors to their education rather than passive recipients. Empathy is a skill that we actively teach and is embedded into every aspect of our culture. We hold high standards for students, parents, and staff alike.
We strive to earn the respect and reputation needed to influence others in the education sector (the ripple effect) and hope to attract others to follow our lead.
Curiosity and creativity are infused into every aspect of our school and not-for-profit organization. We believe in thinking outside of the box and trying new things rather than simply just following what has always been.
You can't change the world by being like the world. Stand out, stand for something and be brave.
WHY GIVING IS IMPORTANT
Like every non-profit, Calgary Changemakers in Education Society and the Calgary Changemaker School needs the philanthropic support of the people who care about our mission, our vision, our programs and our school. The generosity of your gifts of time and resources makes a significant difference in the lives of our students and teachers enabling us to fulfill our mission.
In general, tuition only covers the cost of our faculty and staff payroll and basic operations. In order to offer vibrant and personalized programs, small class sizes, mental health supports for our students, and educational outreach to have a larger impact, we rely on gifts from our community.
In the future, we hope to be able to set tuition at a level that encourages more financial accessibility and offer a bursary program to families demonstrating both financial need and who embody exceptional Changemaker qualities.
YOU help us continue to 'be the change we wish to see in the world.'
